Who we are
LignoSolve is a Danish company developing new ways to protect wood using lignin, the natural polymer that gives trees much of their strength and resistance.
The company was founded in 2026 as a spinout from the University of Copenhagen, where our team spent years working at the intersection of lignin chemistry, wood science, and sustainable materials. During this research, we developed a technology that allows lignin to be used as an effective wood protection system, offering an alternative to tropical hardwoods and conventional biocide-based treatments.
Today, we are focused on bringing this technology from the laboratory into real-world applications through close collaboration with industry partners across the wood value chain. Our goal is to make durable wood products more sustainable, more accessible, and less dependent on scarce or environmentally problematic materials.
